Almaden Swim and Racquet Club History
Since 1970, the Almaden Swim and Racquet club has been keeping the local people active both physically and socially with its charming alfresco pools and lit tennis courts.
The club was built by the Del Webb Corporation to cater for new homeowners in the area. Del Webb went on the operate the club until it could become self-sufficient through memberships.
The transfer of ownership from Del Webb to the ASRC membership took place in the fall of 1971 with approximately 175 family memberships purchased.
The original plan was to sell 300 family memberships which remains the total the number of families in the club today.
Over the decades a million serves have been made on the courts, countless laps made in the pools and of course, thousands of friendships have blossomed.
Since its inception, ASRC has acted as a real community hub in Almaden and a venue where several generations enjoy fun activities and social events together.
